BBQ for the 1 in 4: Meet the Team

Hey, my name is Allen Fontenot, and I am with team Ainsley. Ainsley's Angels has been a part of my life since inception. My wife Samantha is Ainsley’s Mother’s best friend and has been by her side through every step of the Holliers' loss and recovery. I have been fortunate enough to be a part of such an amazing group that has touched so many others. It wasn’t until I had children of my own that I truly comprehended infant loss and how it can affect a family. So many people struggle with a loss by themselves and feel like they can’t talk to anyone because many times, they haven’t announced it publicly. I have had several friends go through the unfortunate, but have been able to get them to co

My name is Cade Hollier, and I’ve been a part of the state bbq cook-off for 4 years. As a BBQ event committee member, I am the organizer of the judges for the competition. I spend most of the day helping the BCA officials in the judging area, catering to the judges, and making sure all supplies are provided and organized before blind judging begins in a closed off room. As much as I love to cook and eat, it’s rewarding to occasionally sit in as a judge when needed to taste the delicious award-winning BBQ. My name is Phyllis Gremillion and I have been a bbq cook off event committee member since 2014. My responsibilities for the fundraiser include running the concessions, handling all monetary donations and proceeds at the end of the event. I’ve also helped plan the event from its beginning stages in its first year until now. This event/fundraiser is so important to me because I am the grandmother of Ainsley Grace Hollier. I know first hand how devastating this loss is on a family as I had to watch my first born child and my son in law lose their 1st born baby. The loss of an infant or child is such a life changing tragedy, but the loss also affects an entire family. As Ainsley’s Grandparents,

My name is Heather Jenny, and I have been a committee member for Ainsley’s Angels for the last 4 years. My responsibilities at the Cook-Off include setting everything up, running the raffle and silent auction tables, and just helping anywhere I am needed. I thoroughly enjoy spending time and getting to know all the contestants involved in the cook-off. It is so interesting to find out about where they are from, how often they compete, and why they attend certain cook-offs. Getting samples of their food is also a huge plus 😊. This event is so special because of how personal it is to my friend, Danielle, and to see how many lives this charity and event touches. We are constantly hearing more
