Happy New Year to Remember!

Happy New Year, and welcome to the new Anna's Grace Foundation blog!

As we launch, I'd like to give you a little background on who we are and what we do.

In January of 2013, our daughter Anna was stillborn. Following her death and burial, we attempted to go on with our lives as we normally would. Yet there was a feeling that we were meant to do something more, that something was left unfinished. After months of reflection, we realized that the "something" was Anna's legacy. We needed to give meaning to her little life. It didn't take long for us to figure out what we were meant to do. In August of 2013, we created Anna's Grace Foundation to offer emotional and financial support to local families who were facing the unthinkable task of saying goodbye to their little ones.

Since its inception, Anna's Grace Foundation has assisted families in our community in a number of different ways. Whether it's by providing funds for burials or helping a family acknowledge their baby with a grave marker or a butterfly in our Virtual Memorial Garden, we know we are making a difference and are so thankful that Anna showed us the way.

In March of 2016 we introduced our inaugural running event to fund our projects and to provide a venue for families to celebrate and remember the lives of their babies. It was an overwhelming success, and now we're back in 2017 looking to make an even bigger impact! To raise awareness about the frequency of baby loss -- about one out of every four pregnancies! -- our event features a Quarter Marathon that will wind down River Road and the LSU campus. The fun-filled morning will also include a 1-Mile Super Fun Run, activities for children, music, food, beverages and a remembrance ceremony.

But there's more!

This year, we have partnered with Mistletoe Market to offer a Weekend to Remember. On March 25-26, Mistletoe in March will be open for all to enjoy. Shop more than 75 vendors and experience the magic of Mistletoe! Your patronage will support our cause, as a portion of the door proceeds will be donated to Anna's Grace Foundation.
