My name is Samantha Adams-Fontenot, and I have been a committee member for the Ainsley’s Angels BBQ Cook-Off for 4 years. My responsibilities at the BBQ cook off include running the raffles as well as the silent auction tables. My favorite part of my role is mingling with the cook off contestants (selling the raffle tickets) and meeting all of the patrons at the silent auction.
Many of the people at this event have their own stories to share and what this event means to them. It touches my heart at a personal level as my best friend is the mother of sweet Ainsley. Ainsley is the namesake of our cook off and is the reason we work so hard to raise as much financial support to assist other families experience loss of a child. I witnessed firsthand how financial support can help a family in their darkest days. I’m proud to be a part of an organization that sheds light on such a tough moment in a family’s life. I know Miss Ainsley is looking down at her parents, smiling ear to ear, and being so proud of what we have all accomplished to help others in need.
Join Samantha at the Ainsley's Angels BBQ Cook-Off on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center. Admission to the event is FREE! All proceeds benefit Anna's Grace Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing emotional and financial assistance to families in the Greater Baton Rouge Area who experience miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss. For more information on how you can be a part of the cook-off, please visit the event's Facebook page by clicking HERE.
