I’m Amanda Baker and I have been a committee member of Ainsley’s Angels BBQ Cook Off for 4 years. At the BBQ cook off I help with and manage with the “kids zone” and handle raffle sales. I’ve also jumped into numerous roles, wherever I’m needed the weekend of. Helping to plan this event for the last 4 years has been such a blessing in my life.
I am honored to be a part of this mission & cause because I strongly believe in it! We have helped, on average, about 40 families per cook off with financial assistance of infant burial costs. Ainsley’s Angels, which is now Anna’s Grace, goes so much further than the amazing financial support, it provides emotional support for these families as well. This shines through at our balloon release ceremony. A balloon is given to each family who has suffered a loss. Danielle, (Ainsley’s mother), leads this ceremony with a prayer and then each family releases their balloon in honor of their lost children. It’s such a powerful moment that makes me so grateful to be associated with the cook off. This event brings a community together to support a wonderful cause while also having a great time.
