My name is Heather Jenny, and I have been a committee member for Ainsley’s Angels for the last 4 years. My responsibilities at the Cook-Off include setting everything up, running the raffle and silent auction tables, and just helping anywhere I am needed. I thoroughly enjoy spending time and getting to know all the contestants involved in the cook-off. It is so interesting to find out about where they are from, how often they compete, and why they attend certain cook-offs. Getting samples of their food is also a huge plus 😊. This event is so special because of how personal it is to my friend, Danielle, and to see how many lives this charity and event touches. We are constantly hearing more stories of people losing children, and this organization offers financial and grief support to so many. As a mother to two children myself, it is every parent’s worst nightmare to lose a child. Financially helping a family with the burial costs, at the worst moment of their lives, is something that we can all be proud of. I am proud to be a part of an organization that is close to my heart and helps others in their darkest moments.
Heather is a member of the planning committee for the Ainsley's Angels BBQ Cook-Off which will be held on May 18th at the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center. All proceeds from the cook-off will benefit the programs of Anna's Grace Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides emotional and financial assistance to families in the Greater Baton Rouge Area who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant loss.
